Lenna's First Easter

Well it's no surprise that this year's Easter was different than most. Not because it was Lenna's first Easter, but because we're all in quarantine and for the first time ever, I wasn't able to spend it with family the way we usually do. Although things were a little strange, we did our best to make the most of it. We decided to dedicate the entire day to our little family, and make Lenna's first Easter memorable. And we succeeded!

As per usual, Lenna was the first to wake up. I usually really enjoyed being the first one up so that I could enjoy the quiet, but this Mama needs rest, and this quarantine really has my schedule mixed up! Anyway, Lenna and I snuggled on the couch until Dad woke up, and then we sent the dogs outside and set out what the Easter Bunny left behind for her.

I got the CUTEST video of her crawling to her basket, and the SWEETEST look on her face when she realized all of those goodies were for her! You'll have to head over to my Instagram 'Lenna' highlight to check it out.

I have to say though, I really struggled with what to put into this basket. She already has so many toys, and obviously can't have any candy yet, so Dane and I decided to fill her basket with her favorite treats instead. I won't lie and say I didn't try everything in her basket. And truth be told, I totally dip into that Gerber yogurt when she gets some with breakfast.

Anyway, after going through her basket, Dane got to making pancakes for breakfast. I tried my best to make them festive for her, but .....well.....whatever, I tried. Lol. Look, I know she won't remember any of this. But isn't that the beauty of this website?! I want to be able to see and share  all of our memories here so that we can always look back on them. They'll live here forever.

Which ALSO means that I'll forever be reminded of her unsure reaction to these pancakes. HA! It was priceless. After a few cute photos for documentation, I tore them into little bite sized pieces so that she could enjoy them freely.

After breakfast we snuggled on the couch until Dane's parents showed up with a few Easter baskets, a nice meal, and best of all toilet paper...because well, quarantine. We did a 'garage' visit where we stood at one end of the garage while they stayed at the other.

Just a bit longer, and my parents showed up too! This one was a TOTAL surprise. I had no idea they were coming. Lenna and I ran over to the other garage to visit, while Dane finished up with his parents. It was so great to see them. And although this Easter was different, I will never forget how our families came together to try to make Lenna's first Easter special. It's nice to be able to see the goodness of the situation and to make the most of it.
I hope you all had a great Easter weekend and were able to spend it with the ones you love. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
XO -Heather
