You guys. Christmas is in TWO DAYS! Luckily, this year I was on my A Game, and was able to finish shopping in time, wrapped my presents on time, AND have the food I'm bringing to each event prepped and ready to start baking! I'm really not sure who I am these days. Never mind the fact that I still have no idea what i'll wear. Last minute outfit prep will never change, and i'll most likely always paint my nails in the car on the way to our destination And of course I forgot one of the most important details -cookies for Santa. Our plans tomorrow for Christmas Eve will start early and end late, so there's no time to bake cookies for Santa. I needed something quick. I found this recipe over at The Frugal Girls and couldn't resist. It's super easy and looks SO ELFING FESTIVE, Santa will never knew you forgot about him. You can find the details of this recipe here. But please know that even though this recipe is stupid easy, I'm cheap and only bought what was absolutely necessary. For me, I already had mints on hand, so I just took all of my holiday stress out on these poor little guys (like, Dang it Susan! Figure out your Starbucks app pay BEFORE you get to the window! I've got cookies to bake this evening!) and they turned out to be exactly what I needed for this recipe. It's probably best you don't let your children watch that last part, but I DO suggest letting them taste test the first cookie before serving to Santa. I mean, someone has to make sure they're worthy, right?! Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from my home to yours! xo Heather

Will all of the chaos this holiday season, sometimes we just need a night (or day)(or weekend) to sit. This year, Dane and I are planning on taking some time to binge watch our favorite holiday classics. These are the ones that made the list (so far). Miracle on 34th Street This one is one of my Dad's favorites, so we watched it each year. It's hard to imagine a Christmas season without it! Elf You're an angry elf if you don't add this to your holiday binge list. My sister's birthday is on Christmas, so she was always asked to pick our first Christmas movie. I'm pretty sure we watched this one on repeat most nights. A Christmas Story We watched this one every year in school. The kids were happy, the teachers were happy. It was a win-win. It's a Wonderful Life I'll be honest, I haven't seen this one as much as the others. BUT all the more reason to add it in here! A true classic. How the Grinch Stole Christmas I typically don't watch the cartoon version of this movie, but I really thought Lenna might enjoy this one. Which Christmas movies have worked their way into your homes this season?
xo Heather These past few years, I've loved the holiday season like I never have before. It isn't the presents, the parties, or even the abundance of Christmas desserts I'll likely eat my way to discomfort with. Something about being a Mom ignited something in me this year. It's the family traditions that have me so pumped, I could hardly wait to put up my tree Each year, my Mom, my sister and I get together on Black Friday and craft our hearts out for the upcoming Christmas season. Then the next day, Dane and I put up our Christmas tree and decorate the house while watching Christmas movies and drinking wine (or bourbon for him). Since having Lenna, we've added matching family pajamas to the mix. Here are a few Holiday traditions you can give a try: 1 of 6 Host a Christmas craft day. What better way to kick this list off than with the craft day I just mentioned?! In better detail, we each have a craft we want to make, so we bring enough supplies so that we each can make one. I can't wait to get home and add them into my Christmas décor mix! It's a nice reminder of the afternoon I spent with my family, and on Black Friday, what better way to finish off those Thanksgiving leftovers?! 2 of 6 Have a Christmas cookie baking party with friends. Is it really Christmas without Christmas cookies?! Gather all of your friends for a night of baking while drinking a nice cup of spiked hot cocoa. Like a little friendly competition? Have a cookie bake off, Food Network style! Invite the guys over to be the judges. 3 of 6 Watch Christmas movies in matching PJs. Why? Because everything is better in PJs. 4 of 6 Drive around to see Christmas lights. I absolutely love driving through neighborhoods to see how other families are decorating their homes for the holidays. Grab a hot cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, and enjoy the ride! 5 of 6 Decorate a Tree O' Memories. Since Dane and I started traveling together, we started a tradition where we picked up an ornament for each place we've traveled to. Each year, we have so much fun putting up our ornaments and reminiscing on the fun trips we've taken together. 6 of 6 Make handcrafted gifts for the neighbors. Pinterest is fully loaded with inexpensive but oh so cute ideas to make for Christmas gifts. Your neighbors will not only appreciate the gift, but the thought and time you put into it! What holiday memories do you and your family create each year?
